REGULATION

RULES:

  1. The International Music Competition is organized by "Don Matteo Colucci" International Music Academy with the support of Ostuni Administration. The competition will be held in Ostuni at the Cinema Roma from 08.03.2010 to 12.03.2010. It is aimed at young musicians of both sexes and is divided into 9 sections. The performance program is free excwpt for the section E. PIANOFORTE.
  2. Applications for registration should be sent by priority mail no later than 20.02.2010

  1. The competition, except for the Pianists Execution, will be conducted in an only test. The order of each candidates performance will be decided by the draw of a letter.

  2. The candidates will be able to practice on the piano, kindly landed by the Lazzari music company, using the timetable established by the organizer.

  3. The jury, whose judgment is unquestionable and insindacable, will listen to the contenders in alphabetical order, after the extraction of the letter carried out from the President, in the end of registrations and for categories; it will be able to interrupt the execution in case it exceeds the concurred time or to indire suppletive tests. To the members of jury is not concurred to introduce own students and teachers will have also to grant appropriate declaration before the beginning of the tests.

  4. The jury will be able to reserve the faculty not to assign the prizes.

  5. The contenders cannot encamp no right on the eventual wireless or television recordings of their tests comprised the final concert of the winners.

  6. The Diplomas and the relative prizes will have to be withdraw to you in the days of development of the competition, and they will not come sent.

  7. The Association organization declines every regarding responsibility eventual damages thet the contenders had to bring back or to cause in the course of the entire manifestation. For every controversy the Hole will be competent of Brindisi.

  • 1° section: PIANO:
    Category A: from 2003 year, performance time: 12 minutes
    Category B: 1997/2002 year, performance time: 15 minutes
    Category C: 1993/1996 year, performance time: 20 minutes
    Category D: 1989/1992 year, performance time: 25 minutes
    Category E: 1985/1988 year, performance time: 30 minutes
    Category Performance Piano: up to 32 y.o with 2 Stages:
  1. Preliminary: 20 minutes (1ª part: sonata; 2ª part: romantic opera)
  2. Final: 30 minutes (free program).
  • 2° section: PIANO DUET AND 4 HANDS , CHAMBER MUSIC DUET (Vocalists with piano, stringed instrument or wind instruments with piano)
    Category A: from 1994, performance time: 15 minutes
    Category B: 1989/1993, performance time: 20 minutes
    Category C: no age limits, performance time: 25 minutes

  • 3° section: HARP, GUITAR, MANDOLIN, VIOLIN, VIOLONCELLO, VIOLA, BALALAIKA
    Category A: from 2003 year, performance time: 12 minutes
    Category B: 1997/2002 year, performance time: 15 minutes
    Category C: 1993/1996 year, performance time: 20 minutes
    Category D: 1989/1992 year, performance time: 25 minutes
    Category E: 1985/1988 year, performance time: 30 minutes

The competition provides with an accompanist pianist on request and against payment of € 40,00.

  • 4° Section: WIND INSTRUMENTS , JAZZ MUSIC (SOLISTS)
    Category A: from 1997 year, performance time: 12 minutes
    Category B: 1993/1996 year, performance time: 15 minutes
    Category C: 1989/1992 year, performance time: 20 minutes
    Category D: 1986/1988 year, performance time: 25 minutes
    Category E: 1982/1985 year, performance time: 30 minutes
  • 5° section: ACCORDION, HARMONICA, PERCUSSION INSTRUMENTS
    Category A: from 2000 year, performance time: 15 minutes
    Category B: 1995/1999 year, performance time: 20 minutes
    Category C: 1990/1994 year, performance time: 25 minutes
    Category D: 1983/1989 year, performance time: 30 minutes
  • 6° SECTION: VOCALISTS
    Category A: from 1994 year, performance time: 15 minutes
    Category B: 1983/1993 year, performance time: 20 minutes
    Category C: no age limits, performance time: 25 minutes
  • 7° SECTION: LIGHT MUSIC AND POP SONGS
    No age limits, performance time: maximum 2 tracks.

In this section you can join both groups of soloists pop music with instruments or CD.

  • 8° SECTION: BAND, ORCHESTRA
    No age limits, performance time: max 30 minutes
The candidates can apply for a section of category higher than the age in case of a special artistic preparation. In this case it is necessary to specify it in the application form. The candidates can apply for both sections sending 2 separate application forms.
  • 9° SECTION: SOLISTS AND FOLK GROUPS
    Category A: from 1989, performance time: max 15 minutes.
    Category B: no age limits, performance time: max 30 minutes.
Soloists and groups will performe by CD musical basis or popular instruments.

  • 1°, 3°,4°,5°e 6°SECTION: 40 EURO (CAT. A) - 45 EURO (CAT B/C) - 50 EURO (CAT.D/E) - 65 EURO (E/P)
  • 2°SECTION: 40 EURO (CAT. A)(at component) - 45 EURO(CAT. B/C)(at component)
  • 7°SECTION: 50 EURO (all categories soloists, while for groups 30 euro for each member)
  • 8°,9°SECTION: 30 EURO(for each member from quartet)
The maximum performance duration: from 10 to 30 minutes according to the age. It could be over in case of indivisible work.The performance program is free. It would be better to include works of different theme and style. The candidates must perform by heart except for the chamber music. The Jury is composed of the president of the Academy, distinguished musicians, teachers of specific instruments or musical critics, 1 or 2 secretary without right of vote. The decision of the Jury is final and will never be subjet to appeal.

PRIZES

The first finalists are those, who will get not less than 95/100 marks. The second finalists will get not less than 90/100 marks. The third finalists non less than 85/100 marks. All candidates getting not less than 80/100 will be awarded a certificate. The candidate who will get the higher scores of all the sections of instrument and voice, will receive a cash prize by the examining board's judgement and the certificate of "absolute winner". The total of all the cash prizes is of € 2.000,00. They are offered by the competition's sponsors. Each candidate not having received a prize will be given a participation certificate. All the winners having received a cash prize must show up at the final concert. If they give up they will be disqualified. In signing the application form, the competitor agrees to all the rules above listed. The competition Organization has the right to modify some rules of this competition informing all the candidates in advance. For each section there must be a minimum of 5 applications , except for the section with 2 pianos (10 demands), in case of less applications the section will be cancelled.
