REGULATION


COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATION:

  1. The “Don Matteo Colucci” European Music Competition is organized by “Don Matteo Colucci” International Music Academy, with the support of the Town of Fasano.

The competition will take place at the Sala Europa, Pak Hotel Sant'Elia, in Fasano, from  14th October 2016 to 20th october 2016.
It is addressed to young musicians of both sexes and it is divided into 10 sections. The performance program is free except for the section E. PIANOFORTE and section Two pianos.

  1. Applications for registration should be sent by priority mail no later than 6th october 2016, or send by fax or e-mail to the following address:

  1. The full competition, except for the piano execution, consists in a single performance. The order of the executions will be decided by drawing the alphabetic letter.
  2. The applicants will be able to test the concert gran piano in the total respect of the SANTORO PIANOFORTI company dispositions.
  3. The jury, whose decision is absolutely final and unquestionable, will listen the applicants by respecting the alphabetical order, after the draw of the letter, made by the President at the closing of the registrations and by categories; the jury will be also able to stop the execution, if it overrun the time allowed, and to announce other supplementary tests.
  4. The jury will be able to decide not to a ward any prizes.
  5. The applicants cannot absolutely put forward any sort of rights concerning some possible radio or television recording of their performances, the final one included.



SECTION:

The competition will be organized into 9 sections. For each section the applicant is allowed to choose its own exhibition program.

  • I  SECTION: PIANO
    Category A: born in 2009/2010, running time of performance: 5 minutes;
    Category B: born in 2007/2008, running time of performance: 7 minutes;
    Category C: born from 2004-2006, running time of performance: 10 minutes;
    Category D: born from 2001-2003, running time of performance: 15 minutes;
    Category E: born from 1998-2000, running time of performance: 20 minutes;
    Category F: born from 1995-1997, running time of performance: 25 minutes;
    Category G: born from1992-1994, running time of performance: 30 minutes;
    Category H: no age limit, 30 minutes;
    Category I - 4 hands piano: from 2001, running time of performance: 15 minutes;
    Category L - 4 hands piano: born from 1996-2000, r. t. p. :20 minutes;
    Category M - 4 hands piano: no age limit, r.t.p: 25 minutes;
    Category PERFORMANCE PIANO:  up to 32 y.o with 2 Stages:
  • Preliminary: 20 minutes (1ª part: sonata; 2ª part: romantic opera)
  • Final: 30 minutes (free program).
  • II SECTION: INSTRUMENTAL DUET  and  CHAMBER DUET( every kind of formation)
    Category A: born from 1999, runing time of performance: 8 minutes;
    Category B: born from1994-1997, running time of performance: 15 minutes;
    Category C: no age limit, running time  of performance : 20 minutes;

  • III SECTION: HARP, GUITAR, MANDOLIN, STRINGS, DOMRA AND BALALAIKA
    Category A: born from 2008, running time of performance: 5 minutes;
    Category B: born from 2004-2007, running time of performance: 7 minutes;
    Category C: born from 2000-2003, running time of performance: 10 minutes;
    Category D: born from1996-1999, running time of performance: 15 minutes;
    Category E: born from 1992-1995, running time of performance: 20 minutes;
    Category F: born from 1989-1991, running time of performance: 25 minutes;
    Category G: no age limit, running time of performance: 30 minutes;
  • IV SECTION: WIND INSTRUMENTS , JAZZ MUSIC (SOLOISTS AND FORMATIONS)
    Category A: born from 2002, running time of performance: 5 minutes;
    Category B: born from 1998-2001, running time of performance: 7 minutes;
    Category C: born from 1994-1997, running time of performance: 10 minutes;
    Category D: born from 1991-1993, running time of performance: 15 minutes;
    Category E: born from1987-1990, running time of performance: 20 minutes;
    Category F: no age limit, running time of performance: 25 minutes;

 N.B.  For III and IV Sections only: The Academy can provide a piano accompanist for each applicant, sending an e-mail request, just paying an amount of € 40,00.

  • V SECTION: ACCORDION, HARMONICA, PERCUSSION INSTRUMENTS
    Category A: born from 2006, running time of performance: 10 minutes;
    Category B: born from 2001-2005, running time of performance: 15 minutes;
    Category C: born from 1996-2000, running time of performance: 20 minutes;
    Category D:born from 1989-1995, running time of performance: 25 minutes;
    Category E: no age limit, running time of performance: 30 minutes;
  • VI SECTION: OPERA ARIAS (SOLOISTS or FORMATIONS)
    Category A: born from 2001, running time of performance: 15 minutes;
    Category B: born from 1995-2000, running time of performance: 20 minutes;
    Category C: no age limit, running time of performance: 25 minutes;
  • VII SECTION: LIGHT and POP MUSIC, FOLK BANDS (with or without instruments)
    Unique Category : no age limit, running time of performance: 5 minutes.
    Both soloists and pop-group can take part to this section.
    Soloists and groups can perform by CD musical basis or playing popular musical instruments.
  • VIII SECTION: BAND, ORCHESTRAStarting from a trio to a big band (up to 30 musicians, playing whatever instruments and/or singing).
    Unique Category: no age limit, running time of performance: 20 minutes.
  • IX SECTION: SOLOISTS AND MIXED FORMATIONS OF PUPILS ATTENDING MUSIC COURSES IN PRIMARY OR SECONDARY SCHOOL:Unique Category for Primary School:  free choice of the program, running time of performance: max 10 minutes.
    Unique Category for Secondary School : free choice of the program, running time of performance: max 30 minutes.
  • X SECTION: CHOIRS
  • Amateur polyphonic choirs: free choice of the program, running time of performance: max 20 minutes;
  • Professional polyphonic choirs: free choice of the program, running time of performance: max 30 minutes.

  • PRIZES
  • Those applicants, whose score is not lower than 95/100, will be placed first, obtaining the first prize diploma or a plaque.
  • Those applicants, whose score goes from 90/100 to 94/100, will be placed second, obtaining the second prize diploma and a medal.
  • Those applicants, whose score goes form 85/100 to 89/100, will be placed third obtaining the third prize diploma a medal.
  • Those applicants, whose score goes from 80/100 to 84/100, will obtain a merit diploma.
  • The winners of all sections with score 100/100 will have the possibility to perform their own pieces during a Concert Gala, sponsored by the Town of Fasano and organized by the “Don Matteo Colucci” International Music Academy. The data of the concert will be fixed later.
  • All applicants, whose score is lower than 80/100, will obtain (on request) a diploma to attest their entry to the competition, except for the applicants to e.p. category.


TEACHER’S PRIZES
All the teachers will obtain an “honour diploma”, given by the Academy.
